The idea of the plastic container is great as it is cheap and gives it temporary look. This comes in handy for any better half that is worried about you getting too many tanks

I know it's not cichlid related but I use one of these for my beta fry grow out tank.

It was £16 and came with the airpump and everything. Handy little filter.

is that a plastic toy box ?

yup that is a tox/storage box ive seen alot of this as fry tank in peoples fish houses etc but yh i know what you mean its great to watch and hours of entertainment .... who needs a tv right ??

Would a plastics box be ok and does the filter stick to the plastic I would be afraid the heater would
Melt it, I need a tank ASAP and get it cycled went to look at one today 2nd hand but
It was all chipped and slung in the garden

I keep looking on eBay and gumtree but why do people take out the filter
So it dies ffsss

have you tried looking on aquarist classified ?
id imagine it would stick to the side same as acrilic tanks etc and mine stick to perspex dividers

that would make it a 20x12x12 ... possibly a tad small for the pair but ok to raise the young in

Yes it' would be just to raise the young, I like the pairents in the main
Tank, though it is going to depend on how often they
Spawn and how much stress it put on the others
Will have to see

Getting one this after none but it will need cycling
And so I can remove the corys I can only count about 20
Fry I'm sure the cory are picking them off slowly

One the corys are out I hope they spawn again and I get more

possable but ive never done that before and im nervous in doing that

nothing to be nervous about all it does is speed up the biological filteration of your new filter so it doesnt take as long to cycle
