My New Girls Arrived Today

Well bright and early this morning the postman delivered my 8 new betta girls, plus 4 corys. They came in a lovely big polystyrene box. Upon opening the box I found that there was a heat pad that was stone cold, plus two bags of fish that were also very cold. One betta was already doa and the rest looked closer to death than life

I put the girls into a tank and have been watching them like a hawk all day. So far I have lost another two

Not even sure about the others as I can't see them at all. They are in a densely planted tank and so I may have lost them all without me knowing

I've been in touch with the seller and am awaiting a reply. Totally gutted. They look like they were really pretty little girlies. Several covered in stress stripes though. Really hope I haven't/don't lose them all.

Thanks ladies,- it's not been a good day so far. The cories seem just fine,- they are darting around their tank like loons!

The others might just be relaxing and trying to de stress themselves by hanging out in the plants and sorry the shipment didn't go as good as it should have

I'm angry now as I've just had a reply from the seller. He is sorry that I have lost fish, but is only prepared to compensate me for the doa and not any that have died since I received them this morning! I told them how they all looked near to death when I opened the box, but it obviously fell on deaf ears. I'm gutted. I read his feedback prior to buying them and everyone else seems to have had smooth dealings without problems. Just my luck eh

thanks ladies. I'm really disappointed. I have a disabled daughter who is also autistic which is why I paid extra to ensure fish of different colours so that we could name them and my daughter would be able to distinguish between them. She is very disappointed too. The seller knew this when I arranged my order and I would have like to have thought more compassion would have been shown. I think I place too much faith in people

Thanks LadyRiv I haven't seen the others tonight. They could be in the plant, or they could be lying dead at the bottom of it Their light goes off at 10pm so I'm struggling even more to see who's out! I also got 4 corys along with the girls today and they all seem fine. Which makes me think was it the fact that their water was too cold, or could it be a problem in the sellers betta tank? Would the corys have been more able to withstand the stress of low water temp and journey to me than the bettas?

It could be and have some faith in the ones you have left they may pull through and be even better then they originally would have been
