Thank you. He seems to know he's pretty! As far as the Dwarf gouramis are concerned, im still skeptical. It seems to depend what mood he's in. one minute the gourami can swim right up to him, touch him with the feeler thing and he isn't bothered in the slightest (they were eating right next to each other this morning with no problems), the next minute, the gourami is on the other side of the tank and the betta goes up to him flaring, they have a bit of a chase then they carry on doing what they were doing. I'll keep my eye on them, if things turn nasty, i'll take them back.

I was definitely not going to get a planted tank because I cant even look after the plants in my garden, let alone in a tank. Silk plants arn't that available around here, i'd have to order them all online and in that case, you dont know what you're actually getting. So I figured for my first tropical tank, i'd stick with the plastic.
) 5 neon tetras. Everyone is looking healthy including the two honey gouramis. Having a few issues with the gouramis chasing each other around so I was thinking of taking them back to the LFS - they were the ones I least expected any trouble from! Suprisingly, the betta takes no notice of the other fish, he just spends all day either swimming in the current from the filter, begging for food at the front of the tank or sleeping in his coconut shell. I've noticed quite a few types of food give him bloat quite bad especially those tetra freshdelica things (brineshrimp and bloodworms).
