My Managerie of Tanks

Your rasboras are filling out nicely! You guys & the corys have a great train trip! I know the plants will be fine ;)
We've had this trip booked since last December lol it felt like it was a wait forever but now its coming so fast and it's like ugh so much to do before we go.

Starting my water changes now and finishing them tomorrow, have to make sure all my wavemakers are unplugged while I'm gone.
Have to make sure all the bugs and reptiles are fed before we go.
My in laws are coming over to feed the cats and bird, but my mother in law is terrified of snakes, so he's gotta be fed before we go so we don't need to worry her about it. And the bugs, I don't trust anyone to touch my ants... don't need them running loose 🤣 that's a nightmare.

Post water change picture today

And I think I learned who the mother of the baby cories is... this baby going on a train ride tomorrow has a fish shaped marking on his side... like my female named Fish
Baby

My own adult, named Fish, suspected parent.

After a really disastrous trip here, the babies have arrived at the hotel and have enjoyed a meal after a long day.

Water a touch stirred up from the filter kick starting with some gunk lol and the cycled media dumped mulm in there too but whatever, it'll settle. Home away from home until they are picked up Sunday morning.

The baby cories have settled in to their new home and I've been given an update on their progress as they've adapted to their new tank. They went to a really good home. I had 14 babies go to homes from that batch, 7 to 2 different people and I am really pleased with the homes they went to. Both went into nice large aquariums with other paleatum cories to make friends with.

Today I went out in nature and collected some dried phragmites reeds to add to the background of my Paraguay tank.

They're on the outside of the tank, between the glass and the wall. This way these ones won't break down like they do inside the aquarium.

Also, spotted a wild feral goldfish in the river. Can you find it? Wonder if they're a relative of my Neowise... not far from where I caught him lol

Netted out as many of the hybrid pleco babies as I could. However, I am keeping this boy, if only for my own curiosity to see how he turns out as an adult fish. His father is Lorgie Georgie, so I've decided to name him Feisty Fred.

And seriously, a lot of stuff removed from that tank.

And Neowise

I wonder what thoughts go on inside that head

None! That's what's the best about goldfish

I beg to disagree with the above. Fish have 3 thoughts that pretty much governs anything they do:

1. Can it eat me?
2. Can I eat it?
3. Can I spawn with it?

Goldfish especially think about #2 the most haha

I do enjoy how carefree and outgoing they are. They are a very personable, interactive fish. I can play with my goldfish when I do anything in their tank. They'll swim up to my hands, I can feed them by hand and they are very friendly fish. And have their own personalities. Neowise tends to be a bugger and sometimes he likes to slap the surface if i don't feed them quick enough, he gets all wiggly at the front of the tank lol. Spotty is more laid back about it, doesn't get as agitated for food, but will come and look at you until you drop the food in. Then he gets all excited once the food is in. He's more patient.

Maybe it's because i raised Neowise from a very tiny fry, but he's like a child to me, I love that fish and wouldn't do without him.

Some new updates. Added new botanicals to the Paraguay tank
