I think we have a winner. Lepidosiren paradoxa, the only species of S. American lungfish. Looks like a twin:

Those are the craziest damn fish I've ever seen!
Apparently the order is found in Africa and S. America, but that particular species only resides in S. America.

WOW! Those fish are amazing! I'm a huge Arowanna fan. Never seen a Lung fish that big before though...it's a tad bit creepy...cool, but creepy.

In the second pic of the Lung fish, is that a big Pleco on the tube to the far left? If it is, how big is it?

full grown specimins can break a mans arm with their bite. As they grow they become increasingly bad tempered and tend to snap at anything that moves in front of them

Something makes me doubt it can snap an arm (bone) in half . Maybe they made a typo and it should have been a finger

LOL you lot crack me up

The lung fish eats anything I put in the tank, he eats prawns, cockles, lance fish and if hes really hungry he will sift the sand to eat the tiny bloodworm I put in for the black ghost knife fish.

That is a pleco on the tube, its only about 7" in size but there is a bigger one around somewhere.

I will take some tank pics onve ive had a chance.
