What is the problem? I have seen numerous posts on here about different shops an suppliers and topics have not been locked so why, all I did was reporting an observation,!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason is because if the said mentioned firm happens to stumble across a post slating them and they decide they have reasonable grounds to file a law suit then it will come back on William as he is the site owner. As a free public forum that is run at a cost to him he should not be put in the situation where he could be potentially sued. If the site is not actively seen as doing anything to deal with these situations then he wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
It is the persons choice whether they shop at a particular LFS. Anyone on this forum should know just by looking at the tanks whether it would be wise to go else where or not.
It is nothing personal, Tolak has a job to do as do all the mods and they're just doing it mate. Without them this site would not be where it is today with such great information and the community that it has.

It's one thing to point out an observation at your LFS (using no name) and it is another to name the shop. I had posted some picture not to long ago of some sickly blood parrots at one of my LFS, and it wasn't until people realized what store it was an started refering to it by name that the topic was closed.
In the future, if you are going to point out the wrongdoing at your LFS, just be sure not to mention it by name. Simply call it the fish store

Your not wrong there m8, its bad when you can't make an observation.
There's a fair grey area between valid advice and opinion and posting negative comments about a particular store. The risk involved increases as the size of the particular store rises, as we're more likely to be communicating with other potential customers of theirs. The forum seems to lean towards keeping itself safe, and I for one, would rather see the forum safe and present for a long time than at risk.
Now if we're communicating where to avoid, we need to be more subtle. There were a few warnings in a recent topic about another large chain of pet shops to make sure that things were kept at a suitably polite level, and, as a result, a fair exchange of experiences were shared, some good some bad.

I understand the point your trying to make but by just saying "a fish store" it does not help anybody, that "fish store" could be anywhere, if they can't keep fish in a decent enviroment then why not name them?It's one thing to point out an observation at your LFS (using no name) and it is another to name the shop. If a specific person has issues with a specific shop then contact their head office and deal with it that way.

When it is the spoken word, it is called slander; when it is in print, it is libel. I don't know what it is called on the internet!
