the other morning i checked out the tank and one of the glowlights was swimming rather eratically. up and down lying on the bottom, swimming around quickly, mostly upside down and sideways.

i put him in a quaratine tank by himself to observe and honestly thought he would die, but 4 days later he is still alive and kicking. i cant tell if he is eating or not as he seems to be more interested in swimming in this bizaar fashion, so he might not last anyway.

what could be the problem??

Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
How long ahve you had him as ph shock can show the same symtoms.

no signs of that at all, just a bit of lying still on his side on the bottom and then swimming around sideways and upside down. like hes lost all sense of direction.

had him for maybe 4 months! got 5 others that are fine. all the other fish (about 20 assorted tetras) are fine. water stats are normal. nothing has changed.

If he's not flicking I would treat him with a bacterial med, but he sounds in a bad way he might not make it.
Good luck.
