My Fishless Cycling Log

Microdevario kubotai? Here is one species that I am yet to see in person!

I think 10 Ember tetras would be a good start. The tank will take more fish at the same time, but I would stick to those. How about some plants as well? Anything on Tropica's undemanding list would be fine, for example.

7.4 should be ok, and it will fall with time. Do make sure to acclimatise them properly and everything.

Those are the ones! Are they quite uncommon? Yes, I'm definitely going for some more plants too, thanks for the link. Undemanding plants are my kind of plants

To be honest, up to the point when I left UK 2 years ago, I had never seen *any* microrasbora in any LFS I had been to (which is quite a few, from Cronwall, to Bristol, Oxford, London, and Norfolk).

On the other hand, my LFS here always stocks 5-6 dwarf schooling species, predominantly Boraras and tetras, but they have never had M. kubotai.

I have come across M. kubotai a few times in my online wanderings, and quite a few people who specialise in pico and nano tanks do keep them.

By the way, it is best to chose a few different types of plants, to see which work for you. Try a rosette plant, a stem plant, a moss and a rhizome plant ^_^

I'd never see M. Kubotai or M. Erythromicron before looking at pictures after reading this discussion. Very nice looking! WD
