Sp about a week and a half in on my first ever tank, and everything seems to be going my way. but I've noticed something a bit odd.

I've got 8 endlers of varying ages from small juveniles to adult females, and 16 Cardinal Tetras. When I feed them, it's usually a small pinch of flakes, and wait a bit, and another small pinch, and they usually lose interest by the third small pinch. I'm feeding Tetramin Tropical Flakes, and also bloodworms once every 3-4 days (2-3 times a week).

The thing is, they will not eat the pink flakes. Both species will chomp on them and spit them out, or ignore them completely, and they just float down to the bottom. The greens, yellows and reds get snatched up no problem.

Any ideas why?

They don't like them. I know that sounds like a silly answer but it's true. Either those flakes do not contain what they want or there is something about the consistency or size of the flake they don't like. Sometimes we need to change foods to find the right one. I've finally settled on a flake all my fish like and I supplement that with frozen foods. It's part of the hobby to find the food they like that also has the nutrition they need.

I had that same thing with a brand of food once.  I ended up changing the brand to something else and they would eat it all.
