My fish trying to itch

My lake malawi cichlids are itching themselves on the gravel, they haven't got any whitespots yet, shall I treat them or is it just stress?

Have you just done a water change, if they are itching alot yes they have a parasite

No they are the first fish that i have added to the tank. Will the white-spot treatment harm the fish if they haven't got whitespot?

If you have just added the fish wait, it might be them getting used to the water.

It is not a good idea to add medications unless you are sure what you are medicating. If the fish do not have white spots, they may not have white spot. Fish flash of the tank fixtures for a number of reasons. Poor water quality is one of the most common.

water quality is perfect. I got it tested at the LFS. I think like the other person said that it is just the fish getting used to the tank. This is firsbt full day they have been in there
