My Fish Swallowed A Big Snail...

Okay, I'm pretty sure I just killed one of my pseudotropheus acei (It is a malawi cichlid). There was a 1/4" snail in my HOB filter so I grabbed it out and dropped it in with my fish. I never thought that one of my 4" acei would eat the whole snail. I am 95% positive that the fish ate it and did not spit it out. So I'm guessing that in a day or two the fish will have a serious case of bloat from the shell backing up the insides of the fish. I am mortified and dumbfounded that I am that stupid. Am I right? Is the fish going to die?

it shoud be ok mine eat them now and then when i get them out of the pond and they are just fine but keep your eye on it though just in case

Well, so far so good. I was told on another forum that a snail should be no problem for my fish. Just the same I will not toss in a snail that big again.

Just keep a close eye for when he goes to the toilet.
