My Fish Hate Me :(

Yeah my lights are bright that might not help. But there are some shade spots. They are 5-6" they should not be so shy at this size. I will just have to wait and see if they come around.

These are the first fish I got that I did not raise from 1-2". My guess is the old owners did not do much cleaning or anything to the tank. so they never got use to people being all up in their space. I don't even think the old owners even looked at them or really watched them. So maybe this Is why they act like they do. They were never socailized hahaha like a shy pound pup.

Good point! I remember when I lived at home my fish became a lot more friendlier over a few months and I had no clue why but then I found out my mum was going through to the back room and sitting with them and talking to them to the point we genuinely believed my angelfish could recognize his name.....

I,m always in my tank moving plants, wood cleaning. The discus were 4" bodies I thinned out the plants and then they hid behind the filter! :shout: I gave them 6-7 months. But that was only part of the reason I got rid of them, the other was that I'm used to aggressive cichlids, and discus were just far too mellow for me. I thought I would try them for the challenge of keeping them as they're supposed to be hard to keep! My heart wasn't in it with keeping them. I must admit I should have known better in the beginning instead of listening to the mrs.
