My First Tropical Tank

Neons are a beautiful fish but be careful about keeping them with a Betta as they tend to nip fins. I learnt this when I had my first fighter who I kept with 6 neons. Every opportunity and they'd nip his fins so I put him in his own tank in the end.

I've Recently been thinking about breeding neons to create a massive shoal tank. Would have to be custom built say 4/5 foot higg by 5/6 feet wide ? and 2 foot fromt to back ?

Nice set up, Actually looks quite professional, I like a shoal of neons.

A shoal of neons is really lovely - it mezmurized me inn the LFS and then i remember i'm there to actually look around not stand around haha

You'll end up getting another tank anyway, believe me! I started out with one and now have 3 community tanks, 4 fighter tanks and a 5ft tank on the way! It's addictive

yes I've been told that they nip fins - i will take the risk and i've also been told i'm likely to get another tank if the nipping does occur and then i guess i'll be a real fish fanatic!

It wont be long before you are, didn't take me long to get where i am now
and I'm still collecting.

I have 6 in my bedroom, and 1 in my dining room. Im suprised my floor hasent caved.

Out of curiosity would any of you like to work in a fish shop, Just as an extra Or for a short time. I Wouldn't like it as a real job. Although i near enough run a fish shop now.

Hee hee, Just had visions of someone Tiptoeing and getting into bed carefully in case the floor may give way. That's why i only stick to one 4 foot and 1 1 foot in my bedroom

That one really made me laugh, I Bet the fish get really Confused. I saw a nicely designed one that I'm going to try replicate. it wasnt for sale.

Meh, maybe when im finished my GCSE's. Im not doing anything just exams make me tired and i will prolly sell someone a bala shark for a 5 gallon or something.
