This is my first time posting, but I have been lurking around reading info for a long while. I am attempting my first saltwater tank and I just wanted some advice from other enthusiasts.

I got a sweet sale on a 28 Gallon Nano Cube. Tank + stand for $270.

I want to make sure I'm cycling right.

I bought argonite sand and 15 lbs of live rock. I put the argonite sand into the tank and filled the tank with 25 gallons of salt water I purchased from the LFS.

While I was filling the tank, I placed the LR into a bucket of salt water with a heater. I then placed the LR into a formation that I think looks good.

I've heard the Cycling can take a month or even 2 months. I am just curious what to expect in the next few weeks. How many hours a day should I have my lights on? Should I leave the skimmer running at all times? Is there anything else I need to put in the tank to get the cycle moving? It has been 2 days and I have seen no mini critters running around...

Any advise is extremely appreciated.

I am afraid that I, along with most of us freshwater people, know little to nothing about saltwater whether it is a reef tank, a FOWLR or some other type. We are almost worse than useless for salty advice.
