Neat looking fish. You have a pretty good collection going. I never see these fish in stores.

stunning . i love geos got a couple of surinamensis myself . amazing how they turn flat sand substrate into a mini terrain with mounds of sand here and there .

Thanks....

They are fun to watch but also demanding...IMO they need frequent and large scale WC

since i got my 2 i just keep up with my usual weekly 40% change . all seems to be well. altho having said that thats quite a lot of sand sifting with all those fish  bet they kick up a fair old mess

Right...that's what I meant to say....there's usually very little "waste" to siphon out during water change in my tanks .... all chewed up (yikes) and homogenized into the water....

fantastic looking fish!!!

always wanted these just don;t have the space at the moment.

Thanks guys!

A few more of the G. balzani. I have a group of 8. They are still young....hope I'll have nicer pics to post soon.

This was when I first got them, in late Jan.

wow are they all in the same tank? ive never seen most of those (im in Australia)
do they get confused when pairing up?

The balzaniis are beautiful...if i wasnt working on a breeding project then I would definitely have a group of about 10 of these guys. What size tank do you have them in?

No they are in three different tanks - a 220, a 120, and a 90. I don't think they'll get confused - they are better at identifying fish than us ;)

Just moved to a 90. May have to thin down later but so far so good. They are extremely peaceful fish.

What are you breeding? Looks like we are pretty close - I'm in Athens ;).

beutiful geo's...I wish I had a big enough tank for them

Are those gymnogeophagus? Which one is the 6th pic down?
