It might be that your ammonia dosing has been slightly more than 5ppm. Only dose at the 24hr mark when it is 0ppm.
As you are now in high nitrite stage, drop your ammonia dosing down to 2-3ppm from 4-5ppm. Again do this at the 24hr mark when it is 0ppm.
So after your next dose of ammonia, test at exactly 24hrs after that.
Just verify your dosing amount by testing the water about 30 minutes after dosing (just once so you know its correct - not after ever dose).
Once your ammonia and nitrite are 0ppm at 24hrs, you can raise the ammonia dosing back up to 4-5ppm and then shortly test at 12hrs (but only dose at 24hr mark). You can also check your nitrate regularly at that stage as well.
The main thing at the moment is your ph as it was 6.6 previously.
We need to keep an eye on this as if it drops uch further then it will affect your cycle.
People have used bicarbonate of soda during the cycling only to raise the ph to a more suitable level (for cycling). Hoping that someone can advise you on that if you keep testing and posting you ph.
Is your air pump noisy or the stone itself.
If its the stone is it because its in contact with the tank as you have nothing in the tank? Try dangling it in the middle of the tank (away from the filter intake) without touching anything.
If its the air pump then again make sure its not touching anything and is placed as it should be.
SKINS made a good suggestion in another topic to place it on a mouse pad and someone else suggested hanging it from some string.
