My Crystal Red Shrimp Tank

CRS babies are super cute, good pics of the shrimplets they are hard to see nevermind photograph.
:good:

She is a baby making machine... she is pregnant again already! I think I might have 8 males and 1 female as none of the others have carried any eggs yet.

I've been searching the tank today and have found 6 babies, i'm sure there are more in there hiding from me.

Ive quite a few female amano shrimps and lots of tiny shrimplets, like you say they are impossible to photograph, im not sure how many babies are in there, saw about five females with more eggs, ive added some cherry shrimps today so will be interested to see how they do. di

I'm sure there are more shrimplets hiding in the plants, it has got quite over grown since my first pic but i don't want to trim the plants in case i remove any babies.

I thought Anamo's needed brackish water for the babies to survive? My Anamo have eggs most of the time, but i never see any babies in their tank. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

hi shrimper, congratulations on your babies they are awesome, well done. i am trying to sneak another tank in. i want a shrimp tank too. :good:

Congrats Shrimper... I am almost 100% certain you will have more than 6 babies...

Is thsi the first time they have carried eggs?? If so you are doing well to get any babies as usually it takes 2 or 3 attempts for the mother to get used to things.

Ps. I have a load of cherry red shrimp and tiger shrimp at present.. could you tell me where you got the CRS from?

Thanks

Yep this is the first time she has carried any eggs so i'm glad they were born. There are definately more than six, I have managed to spot 10 today. I'm sure there will be a few more too, as i haven't checked inside the coconut shell or behind the bog wood very well.

I got lucky one day and found my CRS in a LFS, I've not seen any in there since though.

The shrimplets are growing quite fast and i've made a couple of changes to the tank so i thought i would post some new pictures.

I've fitted a black backing to the tank, it was really cheap... Its a black bin bag! I've also moved the filter to one of the sides so its not so obvious now and moved the decor slightly.

Here they are today, they are much bigger and a lot less shy. So far I've managed to count 14 in one sitting. Its my new favorite game: how many shrimplets can you spot

Love the baby CRS, they are so so cute  How do you keep your moss so green? I'm so jealous :X

Looking great, I have been trying to get CRS for months now. Btw have you ever used dried oak leaves in your tank? I have them in my shrimp tank (CRS, BB, Malaya, Tiger)and they love picking at them them and it helps keep the PH stable.

Please let me know when you have any for sale.
