My beloved white cockatiel chalky died a few weeks ago aged 21 and i just managed to pull myself together to look for some photos of him,and have been reminiencing of the good ole days when i kept an avairy and still wishing i had one...

I use to spend hours breeding & rearing budgies, finches, parakeets, cockatiels, lovebirds etc....with over 70 birds they use to keep me busy. But due to my dads ill health we moved, thus selling the much loved avairy and all the birds except my first 2 cockatiels Daisy & chalky.

Here's some pics of my cockatiels just before i sold them,i wish i had taken more pics of all the birds, but that was in the days when i only had a disc camera...

I know i have more somewhere, its just finding them,i also done a video, which i know i put on the pc,but can i find it....

Chalky who said hello to me most days, and taught the whole of the male cockatiels the laurel & hardy theme tune, with many a dawn chorus of it,much to the amusement of the neighbours
Chalky was super tame, and never lost it,even after being in the avairy for years,he would always hop on my shoulder has i went in the avairy and put his head back and say hello in me earhole!!
I do so miss him...now buried next to barney the mad cockatoo!!

Chalky R.I.P

21 is a fantastic age for a cockatiel, he must of had a very happy life  . One of my female cockatiels is getting over at least 16years of age ( I have no way of knowing how old she was when I baught her just how long I have had her), and I keep expecting any day to go down to the aviary and finally see her dead. One of my hand raised males that was put back into the avairy as soon as he and his siblings could stay out of the nest all day, alsways used to come and sit on us in the aviary, walk all over my cap and chat to me hanging under the brim of the cap. He always came over to the wire for kisses, since he has died (got a scare in the night) the avairy has been missing it's special spark  .
Sorry you are missing your boy Chalky so much, and totally understandable.

Thanks Baccus.

Daisy is close behind chalky at the tender age of 19 yrs old, bless her....
