I had a topic a few months ago asking about Co2, and after getting the list together of items needed, I think I'm finally going to make the jump to Co2. (My old topic: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/410408-fire-extinguisher-co2-shopping-list/)

This is my list:
Co2: FE From local fire station.
Regulator/Solenoid: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/easy-aqua-twin-guage-regulatorsolenoid-p-6179.html
Bubble Counter/Diffuser/Co2 tubing: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/easy-aqua-co2-set-free-co2-tubing-large-p-5939.html
Drop Checker: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/neutro-drop-checker-p-1231.html
4dKH: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/neutro-bromo-blue-100ml-p-2425.html?cPath=194_199

Questions:

1) Does my final list above look okay, quality and price wise?

2) I've seen this JBL Proflora set in my local LFS, and it looks great, but way too expensive (Even the 2kg tank replacement is £150!!). However the Co2 contoller really intrigues me, as I'm a geek, and love anything with LED's/Screens/gadgets. Is it possible to get a Co2 controller that adjusts the Co2 flow for anything other than the JBL setups? Eg, a FE setup, or are you really limited to the JBL setup if you want the co2 controller or computer.

Looks fine, don't buy the JBL kit unless you want your wallet to be lighter.

Is that a inline diffuser? I cant check the link at work. Inlines are much better xD

Dont need a needle valve as you can adjust the pressure via the reg

Nope it's a "Easy Aqua Mist Atomiser".

Why not get a inline? Less stuff and defuses much better. Am buying a inline on thrusday.

The list is fine. There is a needle valve on that regulator already.

You can get pH controllers that will drive the solenoid, but they tend to be expensive. Most people make do perfectly happily with a timer driving the solenoid. In my opinion the controllers aren't worth the money.

My preference is for inline reactors rather than inline diffusers, but that's probably because I can't be bothered to clean them when they block, but they are highly recommended.

Hmmm, seems like the inline options are a lot more popular than atomisers/diffusers in the tank. I'll have to have a small re-think :).

Wow, rip off for a reg, mines from ebay, exactly the same for £45.

Ps3Steveo please give detail.I am think of buying one too. Hope it fit a FE.<br /><br /><br />

Cheers Steve, I'll probably get that one then and save myself £30!

The second photo on eBay shows it connected to a pub style FE bottle :)! And Co2 tubing will also fit, as it's using the industry standard.

yes i agre awith Steveo you can get others cheaper that do perfectly fine, but because of postage problems i did buy the one from AE and it is amazing, not a problem with it, i have had problems with it but it was my user error

so the kit itself is perfect, another good feature to the AE regulator is it has two connectors within one, use an allen key to take of the 22mm connector and it leaves you with a smaller one for like a paintball style cylinder, this is a good thing in my eyes even tho i wont ever use it

haha, also you haft to note that if your one from HK breaks and you need to send it back for replacement, regulators are not the lightest of things and sending back to HK may be £20+ so AE for me was a better option in my eyes, everything else i got from HK took 2 months to get to me but the way i see it, if its one thing you want to get proper and right its the regulator

i also agrea with techen getting an inline diffuser is so much better i have one and again its amazing compared to a normal diffuser
