That's the problem dave with channa....I have even now to think which ones which with my ornatipinnis, it can be very difficult to sex them, much like angel fish, when people deal with them alot they can notice the difference, however to the normal eye and novice eyes its much more difficult, thats why its reccomended to get groups, as even getting a male and female does not equal pairing off,
