i emailed him, and he has been on the forum since, so he either doesn't check his emails too often or he has fallen out with the forum members aswel as the forum!!
Ok dave well males have more blue in the fins than the females and the fins are higher than that of the female,
females have more red markings in comparision with the male who is much more blue....
Sorry to say dave they look very washed out which makes it more difficult, also i find males have chunkier heads esp from top veiw with a much grumpier look to there face<droopy lips>
One thing is just because there male and female that does not mean there going to pair off, bit like humans,Maybe if your having alot of fighting try seperating them for a while then bring them together again after a month or so....
wow there colouring is a lot diifrent from the ones i had, but expect thats cos you are taking pics of them lovley looking fish tho dave , cant help with the sexing as i never remembered which was which with mine
i took them out of their tank and put them in a small empty tank to take the best pictures i could, although washer out, you could still see the head shape, height of dorsal and the red doesn't fade so you could see that too, i can't take pictures of them in their tank as it is densely planted and i cant get a clear view of them.
never mind, i give up!!
it is frustrating - but I meant to you, as someone who sees them every day in their 'normal' surroundings - the very blue fins seem to indicate males plus all the other info on sexing them - what is your educated guess?
I certainly think the one you originally had in classifieds looks male (from the pic you had on that thread)
hehe,hi no it was nothing to do with the club's being closed.....don't worry iam still around but not as much as before, had a disagreement with some guidelines and thing's....nothing to worry about
