wow lovely fish there! untill today i had a male Betta splenden (siamese fighting fish) but we had to kill him because he killed 4 neon tetras and was on a frenzy! i couldent belive it.

Aww, couldnt you of just seperated him? My betta attacked a neon so I seperated him straight away.

I love that betta though, has he got a double tail?

We tried to but as soon as we put him back in the tank he started to chase my male guppy and nipped his tale! so there wasent much we could do

I kept mine seperate ever since he attacked a neon, he went in a 10gallon which is now divided and holds 2 males.

hmmm, we dont have the money for a new tank. i am quite gutted about the fighter because he was my favorite but i started fish keeping 3 weeks ago and im still very new. maybe in a few months tim i can get a new one.

You should have taken him back to the shop, or asked if anyone on here wanted him....killing him was pointless, he did nothing wrong.

I know but i dont know anybody who keeps fish and there was no way to get to a shop. I am very sad we had to do it. Im also very sorry if i've offended anybody

I'm not sure I understand why you killed him... Couldn't you have just taken him out and put him in something? A tupperware container for gods sake, just until you could get to the pet store to give him back? It just doesn't make any sense to kill an innocent fish when there were plenty of other ways out...
