Resurrecting the Passion of Fishkeeping
So...after living in a teeny bowl with his previous owner, jumping over the divided section that I gave him in my guppy tank, getting attacked by guppies and rehomed in what use to be my fry tank - (all in 2 days mind you) - he surprised his new mama this morning with a bubble nest!!! I had put some fake floating duckweed on top because he liked playing in it in the guppy tank...I havent put any live plants in there yet because I am not sure they will get enough light and I don't want them to rot in the tank. Will White Ribbon or Argentine Sword survive in low light conditions? (Like that of a lamp shining through the top of the tank?)
I had gone to perform a water change to help his fins heal...and I was shocked!!! I very carefully did the change with out overly disturbing his work....and boy he was proud of it - he kept swimming between me and his nest haha

Besides having healing qualities fresh water will induce many species to spawn. Spawning fish are generally happy with their environment, you're doing good!
