Yeah, i'm trying to raise money for a 20 gal, but after that I'll have to start putting fish tanks in the basement.

I have seen my female guppy chase my other female, so it might be possible but TBH I'm not that good with diseases/ stuff like that, so you might wanna get somone else to help you on that one.

That's great! It's best to get it as soon as possible, if you can, switch the fish for other more hardy fish. This will help you cycle a tank and you can read up on the pinned topics in beginner questions fo help on cyclings ect...

and howw old are you again?
OH and as for the nibbling im thinking hte tetras did it the platy tries to avoid them(the two tetra stay fairly close ot each other)

oh damn i jsut noticed something as iwent ot feed the fish...one of hte platys...has either ich or cotton moth(mouth has whits stuck all around it)

the infected platy is scaring me now it stopped moving and started to float upside down then it suddden darted else where ... scared me but infection is getting worse as it seems
also it keeps doign this as if its half dead and its trying to burrow into teh gravel its creeping me out right now im getting a chill down my bone

Wow.... im feeling really horrible and guilty for letting that fish........ :( :-( i feel horrible....but i guess it happens to the worse of us...but in light of this it takes trial and error to learn things

How's he doing now? White fuzz round the mouth is a sign of columnaris, which is a really nasty infection. I dont know the brand names of suitable treatments in your country but it might be worth posting on the emergencies board to get advice?

It does also sound as if you're reluctant to return them - I mean, you managed to get to the LFS to buy the tank and fish, surely it cant be too tricky to arrange to go back to return them? Although I doubt they'll take them poorly. I see you've got a new betta tank too, so I assume you've been back to the LFS to get that?

Anyhoo - it doesn't matter now - what matters is getting your poorly fish back to full health - what are the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate readings at the moment? Columnaris lives in the gravel in the tank, so I'd do a partial water change and quick gravel vac to freshen up, then get some suitable meds asap (columnaris is a killer - and can kill your fish very quickly, but it is treatable - so time is of the essence).

But definitely post for advice on the emergencies board - there's several folks there (esp. Wilder) who are fantastic for advice, and who will be able to tell you which meds you'll need to buy :good:
