Last night i gave my main tank a thorough clean and re-decorating with some new large chunks of driftwood and mopani wood, i was pretty chuffed after all my hard work so decided to snap a load of pics before lights out :snap: .
Anyhoo, here's the pics :) ;

Somebody loves livebearers :lol: The wood looks good, makes the tank look nice and full.

This is my fav guppy male- he is home bred from a line decending back to the very first male guppy i ever had. His tail is amazing, simply stunning to see in real, he reminds me very much of the crowntailed male bettas you sometimes see- here's the pics of him :) ;

Thankyou :good: ! I hope to get some pics of my fry tank and goldfish tank soon as well, as well as perhaps more pics of the main tank. I still need to get some decent pics of the peppered cories, danios, WCMM (white cloud mountain minnows) and many more fish :thumbs: .

Very nice tank you have there, I like your para plec, it has nice markings.

Thankyou :) , i bought him waay back last year or so, he has to be by far the most expensive fish i have ever bought (£20), if i ever saw any more para plecs i would buy them in a second- they are full of character and their color/patternin is very pretty :D .

Excellent tank :good:

How big are your salefin and common plecs?

Thanks :) ! I haven't measured them in a while, but i would guess that the largest common plec is about 11inches long, the sailfin 10inches long and the smallest common is about 8-9inches long :thumbs: .

Ah, so those are the Plecos I've heard so much about! :D Everything looks great, Toxis. Lovely Livebearers. :wub:

Tokis pics and tank looks great, love the plec he's cute, nice to see guppys havent seen them in a while, wish i could keep them, need to find a good breeder of them, as there no go in them around my area, usually ill when you are buying them, i want your guppys, lol, they are so amusing I call them 24/7 fish.

Thanks Annastasia :good: !
I'm putting more of my energy in raising fry successfully now days, i went through a long period of just letting the fry do their own thing in the main tank, but of course many get eaten and few make it to adulthood- my crowntail male guppy though was one of the few that did do the survival of the fittest thing, so i have a lot of faith in him he'll stay strong and healthy and live for a long time like his father did :) .

I have 8 guppy fry (most of which have recently matured into adults, although are still very small) and a large female platy fry in my fry tank and 2 newborns in a breeding net in it, once i put the large recently matured fry in the main tank i'm thinking of sticking the crowntail male guppy in the fry tank with some virgin guppy females (if there is such a thing :p !) for a month or so to help ensure his genes are passed on via their offspring.
Once their fry are born, i'll return the adults back to the main tank and raise a whole new batch of guppy fry hopefully :thumbs: .

I would like to raise more platies, but their fry tend to get eaten the quickest in my main tank before i can scoop the fry out :sad: . I'm planning on getting more platy females amoungst my males to help ensure there is a more regular and abundant supply of platy fry, right now i have 12 females (soon to be 13 when i move the platy from the fry tank into the main tank) to my 4 males, i would like to get at least another 4+ females :) .

Thanks Wilder :) ! I know what you mean about guppys, my most local lfs is terible for them, they are always sick- i don't think i've ever seen a completely healthy tank of them there :blink: ! I stopped buying fish from there a couple of months ago because i got fed up with their fish passing on so many deseases to my own fish, everything from NTD to fish TB which were both a real drain on my tank stocking.
But i shop much more regually at a lfs about 30mins away from me now, i don't get to go over there very often so i always buy lots of stuff when i do, but their livebearers in particular are far healthier- they breed their own guppys on site so they generally tend to be in much better health and less stressed from transport :) .

Love the tank, lovely plecs, i wish i had the space, gotta stick with my BN for now. Liking the livebearers too, ive never really considered them before mainly do to the easy they reproduce but on the other hand yours look lovely.

Im totaly in love with your stunning male guppy.. :wub:

Man why does no one round my area have nice gups? :(

Tank is looking great also, worth the effort you put in :)

Got some more pics of my RTBS today :) ;

Here's my fry tank, its about 30gals, it currently houses 8 recently matured guppy fry and 1 large female platy fry, as well as 2 newborn guppy fry in a breeding net, 9 amano shrimp scampering around the tank and one huge apple snail.
Its nothing special, two filters, one heater, a fake mangrove root with silk plants woven around it creating a den for the shrimp, and a part of the tank devoted to growing scraps of plants in big healthy ones for the main tank :) ;

Some of the guppy fry;

Snack time! They really go for high protein algae wafers. They get 4-5 feeds a day, mostly fry foods and things like dried krill, river shrimp, daphinia and brineshrimp;

Young female guppy;

Young female guppy beginning to show some gorgeous metallic coloring, her father was the yellow snakeskin male guppy in the main tank, her mother was one of the blue tailed females;

Goldfish tank. It looks quite sparse now as i removed a lot of decor from it the other day to make more space for the two goldfish that occupy it (a comet and a common goldfish), they have grown huge amount in the last couple of months! But thankfully my pond liner is hopefully ariving in 5days, so they will soon be moved into my new 5000gallon pond :D ;

They were really scared of the camera so i only took a couple of pics;

Thanks :) ! Hopefully once i get my pond finished, and my kitchen gets a decent floor, i will buy two more 125gal tanks, so each of the large plecs will have its own tank :good: .

Thankyou :) ! The guppy with the crowntail is very unsual, his father had some edging to his tail but nothing like his sons! At first when he was a small fry, his tail looked like any other guppys and was plain bright metallic grey/blue, but as he has matured the crowntail and coloring in it has become really apparent :wub: .
