Mustache gone!!!

Frost's mustache is gone. All the black that had been on his body is completely gone. Synirr you wouldn't still have his original picture would you?

BTW, you have him in with bamboo, how is that working out? I really want to try a tank with some bamboo.

He sure is. I love the way the light hits his fins. He at least was a marble.
The bamboo is working out fine. He really likes it. I am hoping he'll use it to make a bubble nest, but no bubble nest yet.

Thanks Synirr. He sure is completely white now. It's amazing to see what he looked like before and what he looks like now.
I reckon that would be a red-loss gene. I wonder who he got it from.

It's strange, really... redloss is supposed to be dominant, but both parents had red in them so that certainly can't be the case with this gene... guess it's a recessive variation of redloss

Wow, he's beautiful! (Just call me original.) Really interesting. Makes the whole excitement of fish owning a prolonged discovery.

About the bamboo: It just needs to be held down by somthing? The top can be underwater to begin. I have cut a stalk into 4 sections, two have leaves; they are sitting in some shallow water. Can I put them in any substrate (even marbles) and they will root and grow from under water?

Yeah, it sure does make it more interesting.

I'm not sure about the tops being under water. This is my first time keeping bamboo. I just have it stuck in the rocks and have them covering the roots. I think it could probably be put in any substrate, but I'm not positive.

The subject came up again in another thread. I looked up lucky bamboo which is what I was actually talking about. I gather it can be in ,ots of water with it's "feet" wet, but it's not a true bamboo and is not aquatic.

Of course there is the aquatic bamboo which i do have. Needs light and will break off with heavier fish like plecs. I have some in several of my betta tanks. It does good with 2+ wats per usg. Betta seem to like it.
