Mushroom?

hi guys, not sure if this qualifies as an emergency but i dont know what to do, there is what looks like a mushroom growing in the above water section in my tank. it is about 1 or 2 cm tall, with a white stem and a light brown top. it is growing on some sumatran bogwood that has been in the tank from the beginning, (since november), and i have only noticed it today. what should i do? am i ok to leave it? should i take it out? if so, how?

Take it out, but i didnt know mushrooms can grow under water Lol.

Yes remove the bogwood.
Scrub the bogwood in hot salty water.
Rinse well. Let dry out for aday.

It sounded like a mushroom.
Did it look like a mushroom when you removed the bogwood from the tank.

yeah, i was pretty sure that it was a mushroom, just wasnt sure what to do

As long as you removed it it sounds fine now.
