I have bought my first house and will have to move my 29 gallon tank from my mom and dads house. The house I have got is only 200metres away, so im wondering how best to go about it? Any advice would be apperciated! I havnt got another tank to move the fish to by the way

Cheers Matt

Put the fish with half your tank water and half fresh in the other tank and then empty it. You should be able to get away with moving it with the gravel in it but as long s theres two of you that can carry it then it should be ok. Will you be walking it to your new house or by car? Just be careful not to twist it.

Hope you get some others to answer your question. ive got three tanks to move this weekend 50 miles away :S

I havnt got another tank mate. its probably best if I drive it round because like you say it may twist, is it best to bag the fish up any move the tank with half tank water in?

Cheers Keane :good:

or if you have a spare tenner.......

get a bin from b&Q the big black ones this will be large enough to house your fish long enough for you to set up the tank in your new house half fill it and get the water up to temp then simply bag or bucket the fish and transport them to the new house along with a bin full of water

Sorry, i thought i read another tank but there isnt.
Id go for the black bin as well and might even do that myself
