I have a 55 gallon and a 10 gallon and will be moving in about 2 weeks.
Here is my plan, I want to make sure I'm not doing anything terribly wrong.
1. Move the fish out of the 10 gallon tank (all guppies, I'll give em back to the fish store I guess)
2. Move the 10 gallon tank to my new house, bring 5 gallons of old water, and set it up in the new home with no fish in it
3. Move an angel fish, a spotted pictus catfish, a basmati red rainbow, a bristlenose pleco, a glass catfish, and a regular pleco into the 10 gallon tank.
4. Move the 55 gallon tank and set it up (I will not be able to transfer 25 gallons of old water with me)
5. Set up the 55 gallon tank how I like it (live plants, sand, etc).
6. Put some guppies or danios in the 55 gallon tank
7. After a week or so, move all the fish from step 3 back into the 55 gallon, and the new guppies and danios into the 10 gallon.
Note: Angel Fish is under 2" in diameter, pictus is about 4" long, basmati red rainbow is about 3", both pleco's are under 3", glass catfish is 2.5". Will they all be ok in a 10 gallon for a week or so?
Thanks for your help!
