Hi im going to get a new 20gal tank and i was wondering is there anything i need to do when moving my fish to there new home. I have some guppies and a few other assortments nothing really special.

Move the old filter along with the fish to make sure the tank doesn't cycle all over again. If you are getting a larger filter, run it alongside the old one for several weeks before removing the old one. To reduce stress you can also add some of your old tank water. Make sure the temperature is right in the new tank, acclimate the fish in a bucket with their old water, adding new water a little at a time until it is close to the same as the new tank, then net them in and you're done.

EDIT: This might sound obvious, but make sure you use chlorine/chloramine removers on your new water before adding the old filter.

ok thx for the help and yea i wont forget the clorine remover lol though i did once  did not end well

When moving any fish to a new tank make sure you-

1. Transfer them to the new tank in the fish bag you bought them in
2. Let them sit for 15-30mins
3. Pour water from the new tank into the fishes bag every 10mins for 50mins
4. Release your fish into their new tank

Basically treat it like they're new fish!

Hope I helped!

EDIT: Spelling errors
