Hey all,

After a long and thought through process and research, we have decided that we are going to bring a Labrador Retriever puppy into our lives in the next couple of months. My tank is currently right by the door where you walk into the room and would not be practical having a puppy bounding in and out of the room and jumping into it so I want to move it over to the corner. What is the safest way to do this? I was thinking of doing a very large water change giving the gravel a good run through and cleaning the class at the same time, during this change I was going to move it then with it half empty.

What would you do in this situation or your own experiences? any advice would be fantastic thank you :)

I love dogs! IF the tank is not too big, IF the stand is sturdy, IF it will slide easily, IF you can get the help of strong men ( no offense girls ), you drain it as much as possible leaving enough water for the fish to be comfy and everyone involved makes sure to not put ANY stress on the tank seams, I would do it that way. A lot of IFs. I just recently moved my 50 gallon. What a nightmare netting 26 super fast fish!

Move the fish into your water change bucket and empty the tank. You move tanks empty, always. Once it is in place in the new location, add the fish with its water back in and then fill your tank with water. To the fish it will just look like a huge water change has happened.
