Moss Ball

has anyone got the ebay link? as ive been thunking about these for a 'updated' plated tank

I've split them up and used them as a carpet in my tank. It's been five months now, it's still alive. It grows at a breakneck-turtle-speed for me though  But it's getting there ;)

do you have any pictures of it carpeted as this is what i would do! and how did you start it carpeting?

thanks

very weird i came to ask the exact same thing lol
im thinking this would be a low maintenance carpet effect and im all for low maintenance

is it posble to clone the balls?
ie start with 1 split it into 5 or w.e?
as they seem rather expensive on ebay only place i could get them

Yeah they're low maintenance. But that's because I have very few fish, plus they're not the big poopy kind  If you have tons of fish then you're at risk of having to vaccuum the carpet every week, as the mulm and poop just sits on top of it.

I just split them up, tied them to pieces of slate with a thread, then put them as close to each other as possible. Most pieces have started to mat together, but there's still some areas where it needs to fill out.

i really like that carpet

looks good low maintenance/dont grow tall vaccuuming shouldnt take that long while doing the weekly changes

how many did you buy (moss balls) and how much of an area did they cover? (roughly)

thanks and sorry for jacking the thread abit
