I have 2 gold rams and I was wondering if it works to have another set of them?  I'd like to get a pair of German Blue Rams.  I'm not completely sure but I think my Goldens are both female.  55 gallon tank with:

6 Corydoras
1 dwarf flame gourami
10 neons
2 bristlenose plecs
some cherry shrimp and 4 nerite snails
2 GGR

I have the same size tank with four GBRs. I have two males and two females. My full stocking is in my sig. Both German blue and German gold rams are the same species, so it would work to have two male German blue rams in addition to your gold ones. I think it is not unreasonable to add the extra rams, as the gourami and the neons won't bother them. My rams have killed shrimp before though, so yours may as well. My dominant male is the one who usually does it but his girlfriend sometimes gets involved.

If you do get a pair, I would move around any territory markers such as stones, caves, etc. This will help limit any potential aggression. Also, it wouldn't hurt to be sure that your pair are two females.

Thank you for the response.  I've been googling like crazy trying to find out how to sex GGRs, I think they may still be too young but I'm not sure.

How long have you had them? Can you post a picture of each one? Someone on here is bound to know.
