MORE NEW PICS ! (new set-up )

i was going to say the ame about the angels. they grow really big and need a deeper tank.
i really like your tanks as well, the black gravel looks really good and the african tank looks nice with those caves. post pics when you get the fish in, i'd love to see them. :)

hey i was just putting the puffer as an option, haha i kinda use the sig as a notepad for the fish i want. i am still looking into options for something small, i might just keep it running as a medical tank incase any of my new fish get into fights or anything. the angels are in there and they seem fine, ive had the larger one in there for 7 months and he looks fine in there. after i got the second one i realized i shouldnt have, so once they get big im going to steal them when my girlfriend isnt looking and give them to a better home.
thanks for the input
any more input on the african tank would be great, thanks !

you need to STOP right now!

that tank is as pleasing on the eye as a bit of rubble in some glass.....dont mean to be nasty but you dont want to waste your time.

i would spend a few hours surfing the various forums looking at members tanks for some ideas.....it will be well worth it. The prob with asking your question here is people can be TOO nice sometimes and would say a pebble in a pint glass was good just to be nice.

there are LOADS of little tanks on the web you can see......find one you like and copy it, post a pic and we will all say it looks cool!

well whats wrong with mine ? ive looked at a lot and seen the double cave thing a lot, large rocks all over in a lot of tanks, and tunnels, all i have are a couple pieces of driftwood, doublecave, small cave on the side and a canopy on the right, couple rocks spread around too
the slate at the bottom of each driftwood is just to hold it down, it will all be covered, incase you think those are part of the decor
ps- im looking for constructive critisism,

thanks for the tip but im not going to copy anyones hard work and i dont want you to just say it looks cool, i want help on what mine needs more of or less of, thats why i posted pics and asked for help, not to have people tell me it looks bad.

I happen to like "New Set-up" myself, as opposed to the "Set-up 2". The only thing I would do to it now is add lots of live plants... low-growing ones (like java moss, riccia), short ones (like hairgrass) and tall ones (like amazon sword, ludwigia, rotella, cobomba). Mix the plants in throught the rocks and wood... that would look great.
You can get plants pretty inexpensively and let them spread to fill in. That's just my opinion anyways. Hope it helps!

i wanted to do that as well but the african cichlids will uproot them and i dont want to replant them everyday.
why the first one? i like it too just cause it has less driftood, and alittle open space on the side

Yeah Tiggs does kinda have a point even though it was kinda harsh. Even though you spent a lot on the wood you should return a lot of it or resell it, Africans need lots and lots of rocks. Also I believe some wood lowers your pH andcan tint your water depending on the type of wood. :D Last is that you don't have to copy others ideas all you have to do is observe that almost everybody with an African Cichlid tank just has loads of rocks. All you have to do is have a couple pile and there is guaranteed to be caves. :D :p :D

Might not be what you wanted to hear but HTH

i dont mind help, that is what i want to hear, i guess it just sounded a little mean. i was thinking of taking the one on the left out, thats why i posted two different pics, i want the one on the right for my plecos, the little one in the middle wont be so big once the slate bottoms are covererd, so ill take out the one on the lefr and sell that, anyone want it ?
but other than that are there any suggestion ?

You could get more bigger rocks that you can find outside(just boil them and test them even though I don't know if it matters with cihlids?) them Maybe put those on the bottom and the smaller ones stacked in there. Do it however you like I'd just add more rocks. :D

Oh yeah post a topic about your wood in buy/sell if you haven't already.

I've got a question for you freshcichlid

In your african cichlid tank, did your peices of driftwood come with the rocks glued to the bottom or did you have to get the driftwood and glue it yourself?
