Well I have just soaked my piece of mopani wood in a bucket of water for a week now, then yesterday I boiled it for about 3 hours. Then after that I soaked it agian in a bucket over night to see if it is still leaking tannins, and this morning I looked, and sure enough it is.
I am just curious, for all of you people out there that have mopani wood, how long did you soak it before the tannins stopped leaking out, or how long did you soak it beofre you just decieded to throw it in you tank?
Thanks, I just want to get an idea how much longer I will need to soak it for.
EDIT: Can you find Mopani/bog/drift wood outside around my neck of the woods?(Wisconsin USA)
Thanks!
