I just bought mopani wood for the first time for my 29 gallon tank. I started soaking it in my bathtub about an hour ago. I thought I was soaking it so tannins would be released but the water isn't changing color or darkening at all.

Do I need to give it more time? Could the wood already be cured?

you should soak it for a week, and the water well start changing color soon.

I wasn't calling you out and saying you were lying? I was simply just stating my Mopani never leached tannins - could just be the supplier I get it from pre-soaks it or I never noticed with my filtration - carbon and water polishing media etc

i know, i was just saying i have proof if somebody didnt beleive me.
