I have noticed a new pic of your tank as your sig. Any chance you could post a bigger pic it looks BRILL, save me squinting lol, plus I would love to see how the mafia have grown.

Hi Lesley, thanks  just for you :D

Full tank pic:

The Mafia (for those who dont know who the mafia are, they are my satanoperca daemons). They are fast becoming my favourite fish, really starting to grow now and colour up, the largest of the group of 4, (I lost one to neotropical bloat! :( ) has the most beautiful blue coming in his fins now alongside the reds and long extentions on his dorsal fins, hope you can see these in the photos, for some reasons these guys dont photograph well, but these are the best of the few I took, especially for you Lesley :p

Currently seriously considering getting them their own tank and trying to breed them, which apparently isnt easy :S

The tank looks stunning hun, really really nice. Thanks for the bigger piccy, you should put it in the competition!

They are stunning, I sometimes kick myself for not buying them lol.

Bags some babies too lol

wow that really is gorgeous - just out of curiosity whats your current stocking? And how big is the tank I'm looking for something similar soon ;)

The current stocking, which maybe somewhat controversial to some, but is trial and error and Im well aware that it's 99.9999% unlikely to work long term, is: 1 Oscar (4" approx), 1 red spot severum (7-8"), 3 senegal bichirs (1 @ 8", 1 @ 5", 1 @ 3"), 4 bala sharks, 1 BGKF, 4 Satanoperca Daemons, 1 BN plec and 10 rainbows (all 4"+, 5 boesemani, 5 Lacustris).

The rainbows are what may have to be removed to another tank, its gonna depend on the Oscar, obviously in a years time, when its larger and has a bigger mouth, it may see them as food, even though by then I expect them to be 5". There is also a chance that the bichirs might decide they are snack worthy as other members here have had problems with bichirs and rainbows.

Im currently debating another tank for daemons, which I would then also move the rainbows too. Either way, first sign of problems and fish will be moved.

Ah cool, I understand why you have the variety at the moment because a 6ft with a few cichlids growing up over a year is a little empty really. So long as the fishes welfare is put first (which is it obviously is) I dont see a problem with it :)

Oh yeah, sorry forgot to add, its a 5ft, juwel rio 400 :) Dont worry, I wouldnt put any fish of my fish under any undue stress, I rehomed my GT this week as he suddenley turned nasty and was attacking the Oscar and Severum, which was a shame, as I loved him dearly and he was beautiful but not fair to keep him and risk injury or death to the other fish.

nono I never would think that as far as I am concerned anything you and Davo say is gospel ;)
