Hi,
Having a mini cycle nightmare at the moment. Was away working and Mrs said water was a bit cloudy. Got back and it's like soup. I've done a 50 %+ water change yesterday, then about 50% at 12 hour intervals so far, and am dosing with prime.
I'm down 4 geophagus so far, all died overnight, but think that's due to them being poisoned when mini cycle started while I was away. Dempsey and angels etc seem ok.
Tank is 5 x 1.5 x 2, sand substrate, few giant val plants, lots of bogwood.
I've also reduced the lighting from 2 x 5' t5 to 1 x 5' led tube, hoping to cut algae bloom and introduced a powered to increase surface agitation.

My question is, would the use of prime prevent the growth of bb and slow the completion of mini cycle?

And if anyone has other recommendations, please reply.

I'm gutted at the moment.

Pre water change (12 hrs since last)
Ph 7
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0.25
Nitrate 10.
