Mini Bow 2.5 Gallon Or 5 Gallon?

definatley don't put a betta in with guppies, the betta will kill the guppies. cos they have long flowing tails they think it's another betta and will attack them........ they're not called siamese fighting fish for nothing!

sweet i had my info correct. thanks miss wiggle.

I may start with one betta and then try something else... Not sure yet..

OK all, I decided on the 2.5 gallon and one female betta. Any suggestions on what to put with her? Thanks!

for a 2.5G just leave it as a betta tank either for 1 female or 1 male.

The tank is not large enough to put anything else in it with a betta.

Where I got the tank from, they had one set up in the store (this is a fish specialty store), and they had five fish in it... I think they were platys...

Your fish specialty store's main focus is to turn a profit. Of course they will cram 5 platys into a 2.5. They also have resources that you do not, such as many larger tanks to put these fish back into when the males get a little too nippy with the females. They also have more tank space for fry, which will happen when you have 5 platys of which at least 3 should be females.

The most you could safely put in there might be a small group of pygmy corys with a betta. Nobody posting here is making a single cent off of giving you info, your local specialty store is. You are getting good advice for free, with nobody making any money off of you. This is not the case with your local shop.
