as title states , I've got my second batch of cory eggs after fungus got the lot. i purchased methylene blue this time (wow that stuff stains your hands) and put the eggs in tupperware container with airstone and floated at top of tank, all eggs look good but i noticed a few clumps of blue stuff floating about and some attached to the eggs, i removed most of it with a dropper . just wondering what it is or whether it is the meth blue attaching itself to bit of fungus?

also wondering after hatching do most folk stop using meth blue or continue? i lost my last batch after they hatched to fungus

I've never used meth blue so can't comment, but have hatched loads os cory eggs, i find the best way is either put them in a tub with an airstone bubbling away to aid circulation, or put them in a net with an airstone underneath. :good:

95% of them hatch, and a few are non fertile anyway...

i never used meth blue last time but i managed to hatch 20 eggs with just a small tub and airstone , i did a big water change in the main tank and temp dropped quite a bit and i thought it might be too cold for fry so i removed tub and took air stone out and left it under a lamp and went out for few hours, i thought the lamp would keep the temp up but when i came back they were all dead with fungus, i as gutted :(((

Awww what a shame, probably because you removed the airstone and used the lamp, fry thrive quite well at lower temps,my fry tank is at 22 degrees, and they do better in there at that temp than they did at 24 degrees :)

Better luck next time, :good:

I remove my egg tub, whilst doing w/c , i just leave it on the side with the airstone in and wrap a cloth around the tub,it then goes back in after the w/c :)
