Meet The Redheads

Nice fish bonzo. I bought 8 of these fish 2 weeks ago also, really happy with them. Did you get yours from St Albans Maidenhead aquatics?

Few pics of mine

Edit

Two pairs have spawned already. One pair got the eggs/fry to the mouthbrooding stage. At present the redheads are in a large community tank so the fry have no chance. I will set them up some breeding tanks at some point. Great fish

We got them from oddball express via mail order. Hoping ours will breed as well. 2 of them are displaying to each other over a stone but the heros severus keeps putting them back so they wont have the chance until we get him moved to another tank.

Nice fish you have too, really looking forward to getting some of these soon. Just out of interest can you remember how much they were in St Albans? I have seen some locally but they are £20 each and that seems a little steep.

Lucky you getting two pairs out of the 8 already. Good luck with the breeding plans, very encouraging that they have already got to the mouthbrooding stage.

I paid £30 for 4 fish liked them so much I went back the next day for another 4! £60 total. If I have bought 8 at once they would have been slightly cheaper...So I agree £20 each seems alot.

I've been really lucky with these fish spawning so soon. I saw 2 of them digging a pit in the dealers tank which really tempted me to buy them, that and how good they looked. I was careful that the shop assistant bagged them 2 for me ;)

Beautiful fish. I once used playpit sand and found it too fine. It ended up everywhere, and up into my filters. I use river sand from Maidenhead Aquatics, and have never had that problem since.
