These guys are hanging out in quarantine until they get a clean bill of health. The algae on the tank isn't allow me to take the clearest photos. Large mickey mouse platy is Prancer, solid red is Poppy, blue platy is Persia, yellow platy with pink cheeks (awe Pancake) and a spotted platy with a black mustache named Picasso.
Better photos will come when they're moved into the big tank.

Nice

Are they all female? In the past I have found platies almost as easy to breed as guppies, so almost any females you now have are more than likely pregnant and if you have a male or two definantly are now.
Best of luck with them and keep us up dated.

LOL nice names

What a positively perfect party of Platies :)

I'm raising a few fry of my own at the moment.  I can't see that I'll name them all though - top effort!

Do all your fish have names and can you remember them?

The guy in the fish store didn't know, so we'll see how we fare!

Thanks! I wanted them to fit each fish so I put a lot of thought into them ;)

My perfect party of platy guest list purposely perplexes the best!
I'm sure fry will be an issue, but my other large humpback fish (in my signature) may help keep fry numbers down I would think. And yes, all fish get names besides little minnow. Minnow was a minnow named minnow. The humpback and smiling killifish in my signature is Nessie like the lock Ness monster. It was only fitting since she is deformed and looks like a smiling aquarium monster. Nessie swallowed minnow whole after I fasted her a few days ago. I guess she did not approve.

Killie's will do that!  Which is why I've avoided moving my Killie (as yet un-named) into my larger tank due to the platy fry (also all un-named), which are impossible to catch.

I want to see your killi! Message me a photo. Mine was with a platy for a while when I first got her and she never messed with the Platy but then again, they're not mouth sized

I thought you'd never ask! lol.  I don't have any pictures of him at the moment.  I'll try to get you one tonight.

This is my platy family, I love them.... they are so active and have funny personalities I can't keep my eyes off them! IMG_20150921_132140.jpg
Not a great picture... its impossible to take a decent fish pic.

How pretty! I love the color varieties within their own species. Every one looks different. It adds variety. :) I also got 5 for $7 so yay for inexpensive. How many do you have Nic?

Yeah me too, I always get excited when I see platys with different patterns and colours, I have two 'jumbo' females, one is white with tiny black dots on her tail and what look like pink ears, the other one is an orange tuxedo female, and I have a blue male with a navy blue spot at the base of his tail, a white and red black male with a mostashe, a silver and orange female and a pure orange female.
The two jumbo only coat me £4 and the 4 smaller cost £5!

I made sure I got all different coloured ones rather that get the same, like you say, it adds variety!

I was unable to get a decent pic of my Killi last night.  He insisted on being back lit as much as possible....I'll keep trying :)

Photographing fish is definitely not for the faint of heart! I'm still trying to get good photos of my bettas and I've had one of them for almost two weeks.

If I had a decent macro lense for my SLR I'd stand a better chance.  As it is I tend to resort to using the camera on my phone which isn't really ideal.  Occasionally I get lucky.

Yup mine has learned that as soon as the camera comes out............. Hide, She will sit still all flared up and as soon as I get everything right and am about to press the button She moves.

I suspect she knows what she's doing and is doing it deliberately just to annoy me, Those little Bettas are smarter than we give them credit for. Anyone who has or had a Betta  knows that sad feed me look, or the im so happy to see you dance, now feed me, and what do we do? We feed them and the fish train us to do so. LOL.
