ARGH...okay first off this is SnowyzMom, she never signed out a week ago on this CPU! ARGH!
Ahem......
Okay, it's not a huge dramatic dying fish rescue, but it's MY attempt to be fishy responsible! Yep, I was in the pet section at Wallyworld to get dog and cat food. Yep, I had to check the fish tanks.
When it's -30 outside one doesn't generally sell many fish so they sit and sit for months. In a dark unlit tank, with no guppies left in it, I saw a lone baby otto, and I mean tiny. I don't know when he was last fed or if they even knew he was in there, he blended so well with the rock in there. Talk about a depressed looking fish!
And right below him in a lit tank, another tinier baby otto going bananas against the side glass non-stop because he/she could see ALL the other ottos in the lit tank next door to it. Not fair for a schooling fish I figured.
So, since they're only $1.67 each and I have intended to up my otto numbers in the 25 gallon for awhile now(only 2 in there), I got the two teeny babies and two teenagers and brought them home. YES, they were safe all the way. I put the entire fish bag into a double insulated scarf/hat thingy I have. I'd have taken frostbite myself before letting them come to harm. I drove straight home of course.
The teeny ones, and I do mean teeny, are soooo cute. The tiniest one thinks the guppies are the greatest thing he's ever seen and chases them all over. Then he remembers he's an otto, and goes suck on the glass with the others, then he thinks the black neons are his parents and chases them all over. Just too flippin cute.
Anyways, just had to share it. They are loving the tank, so much to see and do. I feel really good about taking the two tiny ones. Me fish rescuer... YAAAAAY!
