Marine Stocking Density

Ok then.

A 15g will do for two Ocellaris or clarkii clowns.
If you get a 20g you can have the two Ocellaris or clarkii clowns and one other smaller fish such a fire fish(Or other small fish).

You want to aim for 20x-30x the tank in turn over. So for the 15g you want 300-450gph and for the 20g 400-600gph.

You want to have 1lb/G (Or more) for live rock. Sand is not needed but if you want it, 2-3inches of sugar fine (or larger as long as it’s not in the crushed coral size range) coral sand.

You will need to do about 10% WC and top of regularly with fresh water

Now as for Inches per gallon.
DO NOT TRY AND USE THIS IN MARINE KEEPING
"A long winded spiel about bio load of different fish etc. I get it that some fish are messier than others; you get that with freshwater, take plecs or goldfish for example. But as a guide for a newbie to marines, how many fish should I squeeze in any given tank!'

In fresh water tanks and fish are generic. SOME fish are more messy in fresh water but in salt water all fish are different and their is no "Average" each tank/fish is deferent and response must be based upon what is wanted in the tank and other things this is why most threads are" long winded spiels".

Oh and Welcome to the world of marines
