Mangrove Root?

They all look really good, quite simillar to some we've seen in a store but i can't help thinking that they would look really fake next to the real bog wood and slate we've been collecting over the last few months ready to get it all set up when we move house.

We were looking for a large piece of mangrove root with a height over 70.5cm so that we could chop a flat section off the top so that Kat's little crab would have somewhere it could get out of the water to feed as everytime we put the crab food in the tank the fat clown loaches eat it. And crabs need to get out of the wate anyway.

It's not looking as though it's going to be possible to get wat we're after though

I'm afraid I can't really help on where to get the roots, but would just like to clarify that there are various different species of mangrove plants it is possible to find mangroves in verything from full sea water (SG 1.026) to pure freshwater (SG 1.000) and everything in between.

You got it Bloozoo2 - that's exactly wahat we want, but it's not looking too likely were going to get some

I do however have a plan . . . . when are you going to South Africa? . . . . I have a chainsaw you can borrow!!

I'll see what I can do James - there's a whole Mangrove swamp in the estuary just 5 minutes "down the road" from us :hey:

I've brought back giraffes and elephants before (of the wooden kind ;) ) so can't see a problem with bits of Mangrove....
