my male pearl gourami has become an aggressive bully chasing virtually everything in the tank , i even put in an extra female but no difference he just gos round the tank bullying both females my angelfish and even the corys, anything i can try to avoid having to remove him??

Have lots of plants in the tank to break up the territory. Floating plants like Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) are great for this purpose.

If the temperature is warm, around 28C, you can lower it a couple of degrees and this can help reduce agression.
