Male Or Female Bettas?

bit of a pointless thread, but i like both. a long finned female can be as nice as a plakat male :)

I like them both. I just cant understand why someone would say the females arent pretty because they have beauty of their own while the males have the long beautiful fins.

I like girls because they're so darned spunky, and males because they're such big, goofy show-offs. I can't really choose, though if I had to choose a type of betta I like most, it would be male plakats, just because it is funny to watch such a tiny animal behave with such disproportionate aggression!

I like the males because i have only had males i had one female and she was prettyer then a lot of males but she died in a few hours after i got her

Had I seen this thread last week, I would've automatically said "males", but I recently purchased a little female from Wal*Mart (she looked so sad, all alone on that shelf, and she was unusually healthy, so I had to have her) and I can honestly say that I can't choose between the two. I love both genders, because they've both got their wonderful little quirks that make them so loveable.

Females.... Hands down.

I've had five females, and I loved them all more than the males. I think they have a lot more personality and they seem to be more intelligent at finding food. (They've always figured out within 24 hours that ghost shrimp = tasty meal - it's taken males over a month to do the same thing.)

If you look around at various pet stores, you can find some amazing looking females. My last one was a sunshine yellow with blue (not red) base and teal eyes. I've never seen a boring female, but maybe it's just because I love them.

That's too hard of a decision for me to say. I love them both each in different ways. I love my girls for their spunky attitudes, but I love my boys for being such dorks and entertaining me more and more everyday.
