Hi,

A few months ago i posted asking to ID my Malawi but they were too small to be certain. They have now grown quite a bit and wonder if anyone can shed any light on what they are?

Also some of them have strange black marks on them - Are they the same species or are theyt different?

Also when should they start breeding? they are about 11 of them & 4 Yellow Labs

Thanks!

Kenyi
OB Peacock or orange blotch

That's what they look like to me from the pics. Have a google and see if they look like yours 'in real' as the colours could be different in pics.

Thanks i've checked and the ones which the blotches are Orange Blotch but not too sure about the others.

When will they start breeding & are there any signs?

You sure it isn't kenyi? Looks like it to me: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=Kenyi&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=0ti5s8LO5pVOMM:&imgrefurl=http://www.cichlid-forum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D223263&docid=VU8jNyTJL2t82M&imgurl=http://compbuddy.com/fish/kenyi-m.jpg&w=418&h=215&ei=TViAUKL5AYHm4QTMEA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1012&vpy=395&dur=369&hovh=161&hovw=313&tx=233&ty=135&sig=116395237462438570562&page=2&tbnh=138&tbnw=251&start=15&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:20,i:148

TBH, can't really say when they breed. I had the first breeding within a week of being in my tank, don't know how old they were by then. The yellow labs I got are about 5 months old now and they are not breeding yet. Hopefully someone else will come along and help.
