Malawi Cichlid - Strange Growth

Hi, I'm having a worry moment, I've noticed a bulge on one of my cichlids and was hoping someone could help me identify it, as I'm relatively new to fish keeping. I've attached a couple of pictures, the best i could get....
It appears to be eating and behaving normally, so I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.

Ideally someone will say "you silly fool, its pregnant!" (although i think they are mouth brooders, so unlikely)

which will make me feel both stupid and much better...

Is it near the vent or on the other side? It looks like it could be a tumour. Nothing more then a guess but it's a thought.

I think its forward of the vent, If you look at him head on then its central on his body, but is slightly larger on the left side. looking at him side on it covers almost the whole gap between the Anal and pelvic fins, possibly covering the vent, I can never get a good enough look at it.
