Making Your Own Frozen Fish Food?

does the gelatin really stop it from breaking up in the water...

i've read about home-made frozen food before... but then thought, if i put all that in a blender, freeze it, and chuck it in my tank... it's just going to dissolve into mush and make a huge mess

Miksters right. Different foods can be kept for varying amounts of time before the nutritional value fades away. If they sell frozen near you you can check the expiration dates on the packages to get an approximate storage life for yours and go from there.

I import and sell ruto and degen frozen fish food and they all store in the freezer for 2 years from being frozen at plant (as long as they are stored in a 4* freezer and kept as frost free as possible)

And yes gelatin does help to hold it together in the tank but it does depend on what your freezing most live foods dont need it where plant/green material generally does (But then at the price it costs for quality pre frozen live food less than a pound for 100g is it really worth the hassle) and i hope that doesnt sound like an advert im just showing the relative costs in the argument

Hope this is some help
